Who Do You Think You Are?

A question for the self anointed

There used to be a TV show titled “Who do you think you are?” It was a show about ancestry and where each of us came from. I think you can still watch it somewhere in reruns or on one of the streaming services. Currently there is also a copycat show on PBS.

It can be entertaining to watch others discover who their ancestors were and how their lives might have been influenced by those who came before them. But that isn’t what this article is about.

It’s about a world that is awash with some insane ideas that far too many people have been seduced into thinking are correct. It’s also about the people who push these insane ideas and what their motives actually are.

They have a purpose and it’s not what we might initially think it is. Many of those people think their motive is to make things better and/or correct old injustices. They hope to be considered the morality warriors of our time.

But in my mind, their purpose is much more fundamental and much darker.

It’s about the hatred of something which they claim doesn’t even exist. Their purpose is to show that there are no hard and fast rules, except the ones they make. But the main goal is not to make the political rules, instead, they seek to make the existential rules.

In other words, there is no God. Except them. They want to be the God who they claim does not exist.

After God, the left’s most hated thing is the Holy Bible. They particularly detest the Ten Commandments.

Here is one example of what they want you to believe. I won’t classify it as the most important or even the most obvious example. There are many more. But this one is topical, so we’ll begin with it.

”He created them male and female and blessed them. And he named them “Mankind” when they were created.” - New International Version Genesis 5:2

That passage is followed up in many places throughout the holy book referring to the same truth. Men are men and women are women. That’s what the God whose existence they deny says. Therefore to demonstrate their point, they have told anyone who would listen that men can be women and vice versa.

So, who do they think they are? Why, you know the answer to that question. This is not a profound observation. You don’t even have to be “religious” to see it. I’m a simple guy and even I spotted it as obvious. Most truths are obvious, I’ve found.

Next up will be some low hanging fruit, if you will. “Thou shalt not steal.” Seems pretty fundamental to me, but not so fast…
