When it comes to scary macro economic and financial conditions most of us whistle past the graveyard. While everything crumbles to dust in front of our eyes we like to pretend it’s all just background noise in our busy and usually comfortable lives. I know I do. It sometimes seems as though we are purposely in denial about what the big picture really is.
After all, it might be too painful and upsetting to know what the big picture really is. What are we going to do about it anyway? Is ignorance truly bliss? A good case could be made for that notion.
With that in mind I present the link below for your perusal. The video presentation is a tad over a one half hour long so it’s well over the average internet attention span. It’s also a bit of a sales pitch by a gloom and doom seller so it’s not my recommendation to take it as fact.
I never even heard of this man until yesterday, so keep that in mind. I don’t endorse everything the man says but I think anything that addresses fundamental causes and effects is worth perusing and pondering. Also worth talking about.
Even given their inherent limitations, I freely admit to having a love affair with charts and graphs and this presentation is loaded with them. I’ve had this fascination since looking at my first stock chart well over fifty years ago. Most people don’t spend much time looking at them. Some of my hobbies are eccentric, I guess.
Viewer caution - Once your financial sunglasses are removed those graphs may cause temporary discomfort as your pupils readjust from being dilated.
What the hell is going on with the money and the credit and the markets? That’s the question. This video gives the presenter’s opinions. You can’t disagree with them if you don’t know what those opinions are. After that you may fire when ready. Your opinions can be heard as well.
So go for it. Or not. Ignorance may indeed be bliss. And it doesn’t require whistling.
