I woke up this morning to the news that a politician did something right. I know, right? I was a bit shocked even though it sometimes happens, even if rarely.
But then this politician (now a private citizen) did a second smart thing. I know, right? You’re probably a bit shocked as well.
The person is Tulsi Gabbard. The first smart thing she did was leave the Democrat Party. Yep, she just walked away. Then she did another smart thing. She didn’t join the Republican Party. Or any other party.
It’s anyones' guess whether these things will change going forward. But for now, let’s just celebrate rational thinking and hope that this catches on. Goes viral even? Yeah, that’s it, viral.
If the symbol of the “Wu Flu” is the cloth mask, then the symbol of this hopefully contagious virus should be tee shirts or ball caps that say, “Just Walk Away” or “I Walked Away.”
Just walk away from both political parties. She walked away from the Democrats but both parties suck and neither will save you from the other.
For all of the reasons that Tulsi gives in this video, I hope my Democrat friends walk away with her. Most of them have no agreement with what the Democrat party now stands for. And they know it. Even if some of them are still clinging to the hatred of Donald Trump or Ron DeSantis, they know it.
The choice between chaos and buying some time is clear to me. And it doesn’t include voting for Democrats in a month. But that’s for a different post.
I have been encouraging people to do this for a long while. But the two parties and their media toadies have managed to separate us by trying to instill hatred (quite successfully) and most people look at elections -particularly the upcoming one - as perhaps their last chance at survival. They may be correct.
So, watch this for a three or four minutes. Or watch it until the end while she lays out the categorical reasons she can no longer be a Democrat.
I probably don’t have a ton of agreement with her on policy matters but in the below case Tulsi is double smart. Most traditional Democrats understand that.
