The Broken Contract
The contract is very old. It dates back to the beginnings of civilization. When people first began to organize they made the contract. It’s the most fundamental of all contracts. The societal contract.
A group bands together for mutual protection. Each individual has a contract with the group. I’ll give you power in exchange for protection. If I don’t get the protection, you don’t get the power.
The king raised the army and you gave him tribute. If someone came along and tried to take your stuff or your freedom and the king failed to stop them, you found a new king. No protection, no need for the king and his group. It’s that simple. It’s that fundamental.
So what went wrong in America in 2020 and continues to this day in December 2021? It’s easy. They broke the contract. Not the people, the government. They decided that other things were more important than the contract.
They decided to get the power by taking stuff from some people and giving it to other people in exchange for the power. And they decided to share some of the power with big companies in exchange for the money to buy more power for themselves.
It was easier than protecting and defending the people. They sold you out. They broke the contract.
You kept paying your tribute to them in the form of taxes but they “defunded” the police. They informed the criminal elements that it was no longer a crime to take your stuff and your freedom. They let them get away with it and released them if they happened to be arrested by the police who didn’t get the memo yet.
So there is no more contract with the government. The broken contract means that the people are now on their own. They must protect themselves and their stuff by themselves. Or they must start all over again by banding together into groups. Historically, those groups don’t end well. Only the most violent and ruthless groups succeed. The bloodiest kings are crowned.
Chicago and many other cities have devolved into chaos. Roving bands of violent marauders take what they want and harm whom they please. The mayor of that hell hole blames the victims for not defending themselves adequately. She says they should hire their own police. She claims there is no contract.
In short, society has just digressed back to the stone age. That’s the new contract. Same as the old contract.
Is this permanent? I’m not very good at prognosticating. But if it’s to be corrected and the contract is to be restored, it had better be soon.
The modern day Vikings and Attilas are assembling their groups. And the people who are under siege from the marauders are running out of patience. It could get uglier than we can imagine very quickly once it starts.
Nothing is more fundamental than the societal contract between the people and their government. The government broke that contract, not the people.
The status of "The Contract," as you say, is also highly visible along the Texas - Mexico Border, as I have been documenting almost nightly. People are starting to sit up and take notice, because of the presence of an armed militia group in one border county. It's worth pointing out at every turn, that their activity would be unnecessary if the Federal Government would do something other than encourage more out-of-control illegal immigration.
Memorial Day 2020 showed us just how fast the veneer of civilization is ripped off. The difference between blissful safety and the loss of all the trappings of civilized life (access to food, medicine, and cash - while being burned out of your business and maybe your home) was mere blocks. If the unrest had continued much longer it would have consumed us all.
So, since that time, a massive upgrade in personal security systems paired with an escape plan for the next time. For those who cannot afford one or both of those items, the downside is precipitous.
